Mr. Sudarshan Kumar Bansal, (Partner, UOPF & UOTMC)

Mr. Sudarshan, a Registered Patent Agent, has over 20 years of litigation experience in all areas of IPRs and related fields and those relating to commercial, contractual and anti-trust laws. He has been handling all cases on behalf of well established clients of United Overseas Patent Firm and United Overseas Trade Mark Company both in India and abroad. He participated in the Industrial Property Management Program organized by Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation, Tokyo in 1998. He joined the legal profession in the year 1986 after graduating in Economics and Law from the University of Delhi.

Mr. Shravan Kumar Bansal, (Partner, UOPF & UOTMC)

Mr. Shravan is a renowned expert in IPR litigation, counterfeiting and Anton Pillar Actions. With over 18 years of experience in litigation he also has expertise in prosecution of patents, trademark and copyright cases. He advises clients on diverse aspects of intellectual property including ownership and enforcement matters in India and abroad. He is on the panel of number of Indian as well as international companies and trade-oriented Association. He has proved to be an active member of international IPR organizations e.g., APAA, AIPPI, PTMG, MARQUES and various committees under International Trademark Association (INTA) since 1995 viz., Public Relations Committee (1999-2001), Madrid Agreement Committee (2001-2003), Trade Dress Committee (2003-2005) and is presently a member of Anti Counterfeiting Committee under the Middle East, Africa, Southwest Asia (MEASA) subcommittee. He has to his credit several landmark IPR cases passed by different courts in India.

Dr. Chandan Kumar Singh

Dr. Chandan, a Ph.D. and M.Phil degrees holder in chemistry from University of Delhi, India, is an expert in drafting complete specifications related to cosmetics, paints, medicines, chemicals related consumer products, material processing, polymers, food processing etc. He has several years of experience in Patent Prosecution and also years of research experience in inorganic and analytical chemistry, biochemistry and polymer chemistry. He has a few publications to his credit in international journals of Chemistry, e.g., Analytical Science, Indian Journal of Chemistry, Pure and Applied Chemistry and Jordan Journal of Chemistry.

Mr. Rakesh Kumar 

Mr. Rakesh Kumar, basically an IT engineer, held the position of Advisor Telecomm Operations and Human Resource Development at the time of his superannuation in Feb’07 (after having served for 37 years) from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications. The responsibilities included overall coordination with two State owned Telecom Operating Companies viz. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) and Telecom Consultants India Ltd. (TCIL) for their projects abroad, effectively negotiating M.O.U targets with these Public Sector Enterprises and quarterly review/monitor of their performances.The responsibilities also included overall coordination with various Government Departments during disaster and natural calamities as well as on network securities, Quality of Service and Public Grievances. He has wide experience in Telecommunication Operations, Planning & Development, Management of network, Project formulation and execution, Training and Human skill development, Marketing of services, Business development etc. Major achievements made by him are:

  • Assisted in disinvestment of Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd., (VSNL) an I.L.D. company.
  • Commissioned National Internet Backbone Project with 400 nodes and 14 help desk, making BSNL as largest I.S.P. 
  • Provided Optical Fiber Network connectivity in hilly and earth-quake prone region.
  • Developed communications facility in rural and remote areas on reliable media.
  • Computerized billing, fault repair centers and M.I.S. Developed master plan and established center for learning state–of-art Telecom Technologies. 
  •  Successfully organized biggest corporate Computer literacy programme, where 10,000 persons were trained in 2 years time. 
  •  Assisted Nigerian PTT for their in-house training programme.
  • Prepared long term Macro & Micro plans for a Telecom District and created futuristic infrastructure. 
  • Introduced new technologies in the network, including first fully digital Electronic Exchange of the country.
  • First Cable Duct Project of the State, itemized detail billing etc.
  • Developed and Managed Telecom Networks at District and State level.

Mr. P.K. Awdhoot

Mr. Awdhoot assists the chemical group of the firm in drafting patent specifications and other legal affairs concerning biomedical science. With Bachelor degree in Pharmacy and diploma in bio-informatics, he had worked as pharmacist for years before joining the firm.

Ms. Abhilasha Singh

With a Master’s degree in Chemistry (specialization in Organic Chemistry), Abhilasha is involved in chemicals related searches, evidence collection and patent mapping activities for the firm. She is on Board of the firm since August 2005.

Ms. Nishant Sonu

Ms Nishant has an M.Phil degree in Biotechnology and a Master’s degree in Zoology (specialization in microbiology) . She has expertise in preparing specifications and other technical documents related with several bio-chemical sciences, namely biochemistry, food technology, microbial science, biotechnology etc. She is a key member of the team since August 2004.

Mr. P.D. Gupta

Mr. Gupta’s, a Masters in Engineering, has working experience of more than 30 years in a number of reputed Govt./non-govt. organizations as Telecommunication engineer.  He is an expert in dealing electrical, electronic, hardware, software and telecommunication related patent affairs. He received nomination by Government of India to undergo WTO sponsored training program in Manila. He is associated with the firma as a freelancer for last several years. 

Mr. Sameer N. Upadhyay 

Mr. Sameer is an expert in patent mapping and drafting in the field of telecommunication, microelectronics and electronic devices. With an educational background of BS in IT and B.E. in Telecommunication he worked as technical draftsman in  a renowned engineering consultancy before joining the firm. He is associated with the firm since last 5 years.

Mr. Gopal ‘Paul’ K. Gupta

Mr. Gopal has managerial engineering expertise of 23 years with fortune 100 US corporations in divisions of GE, GM, Allied Signals, Westinghouse, Hardware designs, Software Engineering, Project Management, Business Development IT Services etc., He holds Master’s degree in electrical engineering from Michigan Technological University, USA, and has to his credit successful completion of various research oriented projects.

Dr. Pradyumn Kumar Sethy

Mr. Pradyuman specializes in Patent specification drafting and Patent prosecution. With a background of Ph.D. in Physics and M.S. in Nuclear Physics, he was associated with several research projects and programs on electronics, semiconductor materials, power generation and management. He is associated with the firm for the last 7 years.


Mr. Rakesh Prakash

Mr. Rakesh’s areas of excellence are in fields of electronics, computer science (software and hardware), micro-machines and technologies at interface of electronics & electrical engineering. He, an M.Sc in Electronics, has several years of research experience in several govt. financed  research projects, under Department of Science and Technology. Mr. Rakesh has been working for the firm since last 3 years.


Mr. Yavneesh Chandra Shukla

After serving as mechanical engineer in railways for about 30 years, he now assists the firm’s patent prosecution and litigation. For last two and half years, he has been a technical advisor to different patent groups of the firm.


Mr. Romeshish Kumar

With M. Tech degree in Electrical Engineering and a Diploma in Patent and IP practices in India, Romeshish deals with  firm’s patent matters related to electricity, power generation-cum-transmission-cum-distribution and mechanical devices based technologies.

Mr. Padmini Sharma

Mr. Padmini, with a background in Computer Engineering, assists firm’s patent prosecution activities which relates to software, some specially coded electronic devices - microprocessor, microchips etc. He also performs extensive search and analytical studies relating to patent and invention for the firm.


Ms. Mohini Kumar

Ms. Mohini conducts relevant searches, patent-mapping, determines the scope of an invention and its patentability, prepares documents for opposing the grant of a published patent application and supervises drafting of complete specification for the firm. With Masters degree in Physics (specialization in Material Science), she contributes significantly in patent assignments of the firm.

Mr. Nagmani Panigrahi

With MS in Physics and M.Tech in Forge and Foundry Technology, Nagmani is responsible for drafting complete specifications of patents for the firm. He also assists patent attorneys and attorneys-at-law in patent prosecution and IPR litigation.

Mr. Sandeep Roli     

With B. Tech in Electrical Engineering and M.Tech in Aeronautics from University of Atlanta, USA, Sandeep is involved in invention strategy determination for firm’s clients, in technology transfer and in licensing agreements etc. Before joining the firm few years back, he had worked for several years in National Hydroelectric Power Corporation
 

Mr. D.K. Ganesh  
 
Mr. Ganesh, a Chemical Engineer, handles assignments of patent mapping, writes complete specification, analyzes claims and determines scope of a published patent for the firm.  He mainly deals with the matters at the interface of instrumentation, mechanical tools and chemistry of industries, mainly of polymers, plastic, paint, glass, food processing and packaging, batteries and fuel cells for the firm.
